Ive been using cloak for years and have always recommended it. But in the past getting it all set up on iOS has been awkward and error prone. But I just set it up on a new device, and with 1Password support it was even easier. So now (whether through changes in iOS or cloak itself), the one annoyance that held me back from giving five stars is gone.

We have been testing this VPN for several weeks, and we can tell you from our firsthand experience that it is not a high-quality or reliable VPN. Even when it says that it is connected, it almost always doesnt have ANY connection at all. In other words, the VPN says that is connected & secure, but you cant load any web pages or perform any Internet activities. As soon as you turn off the VPN, your Internet connection comes roaring back to life. And when it DOES WORK (25% of the time), it us slow as molasses. It is definitely the slowest VPN that we have tested. Furthermore, this app is maintained by just 3 guys who dont even do this as their full-time job, so updates are slow and underwhelming. Avoid this VPN... it is simply not high quality at all.

I do not recommend this VPN. It is extremely sluggish when it is connected, but more importantly, it often SAYS that it is connected but absolutely NO DATA LOADS at all. You are forced to disconnect from the VPN to load your data. Surprisingly, this VPN works well on OS X. It just completely fails on iOS.

A very Apple like app with auto secure bring the highlight. It automatically activates the VPN when youre on a untested network. An essential part of VPN security because you can set it and forget it. Other VPNs Ive used dont automatically activate on networks that I dont trust.

Let me point out to those who have given this a negative review that there is no such thing as a VPN that has 100% connection rate. Ive tried all the popular VPN apps out and not one has a connection rate of 100% or even 75%. Also when using a VPN of any kind your WiFi will not work when its trying to reconnect. Im giving this a 4 of 5 star because it will turn on, even on a trusted network at times. Outside of this bug it works exactly as it should and if people expect a 100% connection rate they need to stop using VPNs completely

I’ve tried several Mac VPN solutions and this one has done the best job over the past year+. Reasonably fast connections, set once and forget configuration, and the best technical support I have *ever* received for a Mac product. Ever. And now they have a yearly pass so I can save some money. I run it on a MacBook Pro, iPhone, and iPad.

Love this VPN. Its a little pricy but it is worth it for the peace of mind. The app is sooo easy to use. It turns on/off automatically when you connect/disconnect from un trusted wi-fi networks. Cant go wrong with this app.

I just downloaded and tried to enter three different emails to sign up. Each time said my emails were invalid. This makes me think this app is a scam - the reviews were too good to be true, anyways.

Only issue is it randomly turns on when on my trusted home network. Opening the app solves the problem. Otherwise its the best VPN out there by far. I love the automatic activation when on an untrusted network. None of the other VPNs Ive tried had that feature!

I enjoy the functionality of the app. What I do not enjoy is still having the problem of the VPN popping up on my home network and subsequently not working. Only to have to open the app seeing it realize it was wrong and going about my business. I shouldnt have to babysit the app.

Works exactly as expected. I used it for a week on vacation and felt confident my data was safe because every time I connected to the hotel WiFi the VPN icon was displayed right next to it, without fail. I used it on my Macbook Air, iPad, and iPhone and it worked great on all of them. Reasonably priced and easy to use you cant go wrong with Cloak.

This app keeps turning on VPN, even when it recognizes that Im on a network that I have trusted. It is making me distrust the app & service because it is effectively funneling all of my traffic through their service. And they are the VPN endpoint, so they have access to the unencrypted traffic.

I use this app all day every day at work on my phone and laptop and its invaluable. Low friction -- it auto-secures and "just works." People complaining about the issue where it turns on for a trusted network--that is a bug with iOS, not Cloak. Super easy to use and adds total peace of mind when using untrusted or open wifi networks.

VPN constantly switching on while Im at home. Please fix!!

Its fast and simple to set up. I just set it to enable automatically no matter what network Im using and forget it. I trust this app and I know that its working. When ever I login into my social media apps I receive an email alert that shows me the location of where the login occurred but I know it was me. I appreciate the security I get. Its worth every penny I spend every month if it means a layer of protection for me and my family. Ive installed it into all devices.

The way VPN is meant to be. Ive used others and am back to get cloak. The ease of use and trusted vs untrusted network option makes this a no brainier.

When Im at home on my trusted Wi-Fi network, it is constantly auto securing anyway. This is a bug in iOS 9, and Cloak is not to blame, but it really doesnt matter. Point is, if you dont want it auto-connecting on trusted networks, it is not compatible with the latest version of iOS.
