This app came highly recommended, but what a disappointment! Its supposed to sync across devices, but didnt in my case. I was able to set up an "account" on one device, but when I tried to log in to that "account" on another device, I kept getting messages that "username or password are invalid." When I tried setting up a separate account on my second device, I got a message that the username and password already applied to another account. Oh, and this is only a 30-day "trial," after which you have to pay money to keep it going. Im deleting this app because I dont use public wifi anyway.

This is a fantastic app for securing use of public wifi. I really like the ability to trust specific networks and that Cloak works automatically. The support is second to none. Ive had two issues that were promptly and correctly addressed. This is a service that is well worth the money.

This is one of my must have apps. When I am out on an untrusted wifi network (anywhere but home), I love looking up in the top corner of my iPhone or iPad and seeing the little VPN symbol already there. Have tried other VPNs, and this one is the best by far.

I recommend this to literally any person I know who travels regularly or whom I catch using public wifi hotspots. Beautifully crafted and flawlessly executed!

The best vpn ever

Simple and clean. Works!

If you travel a lot, then you seek out free wifi a lot. Sometimes that is a shady proposition. Cloak makes it safe and works across all my devices with a single monthly fee. Totally worth the peace of mind.

Ive tried all the recommended fixes, but Cloak continues to activate when on trusted networks. Ive had to disable it, so my subscription is pretty pointless now.

The most dependable no compromise VPN service Ive found. This service is easy to setup and manage with the great app, reasonably priced and automatically activates on untrusted networks. It gets around every web filter, traffic shaping service and traffic monitoring service thats been thrown at it including Barracuda and Sonicwall. The subscription also gives your macs access to the VPN at no additional cost. Cant recommend it enough.

Great app to ensure safe WiFi connectivity

Super simple great Vpn to keep you secure and safe. I found this app from the Cortex podcast and thoroughly enjoy it.

I tried this and it is simple and easy to use. It has an interesting website and I no longer have to worry about hackers. The trio at cloak is doing an amazing job by personally responding to my emails in moments notice. I will be renewing the cloak! Thanks guys

Ever since ios9, cloak will intermittently connect to vpn on trusted networks. Also, I have to login often when launching the app. Is it resetting? This app worked great under ios8 when they used profiles. Will update review when fixed.

When cloak was on, it kept knocking me off line. This happened at my favorite coffee shop with excellent wifi and at home. After many exchanges with tech support, we agreed that I should delete the App. I have a fairly new iPhone 6plus. Darn, I really wanted this to work.

I’ve been using the current version for about 6 weeks now. I travel a lot and have tried 7 or 8 VPN’s over the past 2 years. Cloak has become my everyday VPN for use on Apple devices - iOS and Mac. I like the “trusted network” feature and the “OverCloak” feature that watches for insecure connections and invokes the VPN when it is needed. I also like being able to routinely connect through a U.S. IP address when I’m traveling out of country. That raises fewer issues with accessing my financial websites. Customer support by email has been prompt and very helpful. And I very much like that I can connect all of my Apple devices for personal use for the same fee rather than being limited to 1 or 2 connections. Highly recommended. FOLLOW-UP, November, 2015: Cloak has continued to be my #1 VPN, to the point that I have not needed to use an alternative. I love the “OverCloak” function and the ability to move to the background on secured networks and not interfere with speed. The current version continues to offer great function and value.

I really wanted to like this app. I used it on two "untrusted" networks while on vacation which were actually just our hosts home wi-fi setups. On both I would get frequent disconnections or speeds that reduced to a crawl. The problems disappeared as soon as I disabled Cloak. Then on my home "trusted" network, Cloak frequently enables itself even though it shouldnt. Ill check back for future bug fixes for this app but will not become a paying customer while there are this many issues. For now I will be testing competitors.

No longer reliable with iOS 9.x. Especially problematic with hotel wifi (blocks the sign-in). Will no longer recommend or subscribe.

Overall Cloak automagically connects to untrusted networks so I don’t have to be as concerned about someone snooping the grocery store or some other random wifi I might connect to. Every now and then if flakes a bit, but no more than any other vpn service I’ve ever used. Definitely a way to keep my mobile data safe!
